Bogota is everyone's city, and this August 6th will be its 482nd anniversary in the midst of an unprecedented situation; It is a birthday to celebrate this great city’s resistance to the pandemic and its continued growth in spite of it.
Bogota’s evolution has been visible over the centuries, and that transformation has come hand in hand with the development that energy brings and how it has improved the quality of life of its citizens.
We have been involved in that by working to ensure that our service reaches more citizens; From public lighting projects, Christmas lighting to infrastructure improvement and technological update work. This year we go hand in hand with Bogota with:
- Modernization and investment in our network: to serve our 3.5 million clients in Bogota and over 100 municipalities in Cundinamarca, this year we have been working on an COP 700 billion investment plan to meet the growing demand for the service and improve the quality of the supply, implement new operating technologies, reduce electrical energy losses and the actions necessary to guarantee operational sustainability. In Bogota, this mega improvement plan is focused on circuits in the towns of Chapinero, Usaquen, Engativa, Kennedy and Puente Aranda.
- Play Energy: the project to support innovation and creativity in different schools around the city.
- TAR (Early Network Transfer) of the first line of the Bogota Metro: we are accompanying this work with a project that aims to minimize the impact on the city and its citizens.
- Boosting electric mobility: our offer of electric transport for individuals, companies and public administration seeks to make the city move in a sustainable and environmentally responsible way. We believe in this way of transporting ourselves and that is why we promote the use of bicycles.
Our contribution to this type of mobility goes hand in hand with motorcycles, scooters and electric bicycles, charging service and chargers for electric vehicles; business mobility programs and mass public transport system, among others.
- Substations: we have been improving the infrastructure in substations such as Compartir and Terminal so that more inhabitants of Bogota can benefit from our service.
- Electric lighting: our project to modernize 30,000 LED luminaires is making Bogota the best-lit city in the country.
The most significant changes that have occurred in Bogota also come from the way in which its citizens have appropriated its spaces. And although this year the celebration for Bogota's birthday is indoors, everyone is waiting to experience it again as usual. For our part, we will continue to support the city’s development and future.
