Education gives us energy to learn, research and grow. It fills us with curiosity and through it we see the world with a child’s eyes.
This is why children are our priority and our commitment to Colombia’s future, and for several years, we have had projects to promote their education in different cities and rural areas of the country. Do you know them?
Sowing the future
Programs like Plan Semilla (Seed Plan) act as future job generators in the country. The projects promotes technical training in installation and maintenance of electrical networks for the youth.
With the Seed Plan, we not only train a generation eager to learn trades of great utility to our society, but we also ensure that we have skilled labor to offer quality service.
Our Seed Plan already has XXX technician graduating clases and the number continues to grow. Click here to learn more about the program read testimonials from participants.
The fruits of education
Continuing with our energy seedbeds, we developed education programs in the areas of technology and agribusiness in El Huila; likewise, young people from certain municipalities of Cundinamarca benefit from professional training or useful ventures for their region.
Good energy in and out of school
The Enel Foundation promotes the development of the country's communities through education; It seeks to train with excellence and promote the use of natural resources and clean energy. In addition, it aims to improve the educational infrastructure and thus increase the number of young people receiving formal education.
Among its programs, Good Energy for Your School is a plan in which Enel-Codensa and Enel-Emgesa volunteers teach children from schools in Bogotá and various municipalities in Cundinamarca on the responsible use of energy, while carrying out cleaning and painting activities.
Learning with energy
Educating is also about teaching to be happy and that is what we do in Educating with energy, a plan to strengthen social-emotional skills and create a life project among youth from Bogotá and Cundinamarca.
Thus, the diploma "Strategies for the strengthening of socio-emotional skills, vocational and professional guidance and lifepaths" was developed, which is part of the teacher training offered by the District Education Secretariat in 2018, and from which 510 trachers have already benefited from 153 educational institutions of Bogotá.
Diversifying in education
Continuing with the theme of socio-emotional education, in addition to training in technical areas related to our field, we want children and young people to love what they do and that is why we offer programs in different activities.
Educating with dance serves children and youth from Cartagena as a strategy to promote their development and prevent psychosocial risks. And since inclusion is a fundamental part of our educational commitment, we offer scholarships in technical careers to adolescent mothers to help them integrate into the labor market.
Rewarding good energy
Having benefits that improve the quality of life is what our employees value most about working with us, and having privileges for their families is no less important.
With this in mind, in the last 13 years ago we have had a scholarship program for tertiary studies for children of Enel-Codensa employees to help pay for their tuition.
The plan also awards 2 annual scholarships to the students with the best scores on the Saber 11 state tests, and to date has benefited more than 22 young children of Enel-Codensa collaborators. Want to know what the beneficiaries think? Click here.
This year, the goal is to continue educating the new generations from different fronts; This is how we can contribute to building a better future for our country.
