We seek to advance in the construction of an organizational culture that fully incorporates equality between men and women, in a traditionally masculinized sector such as the electricity sector. For this reason, in Enel - Codensa and Enel - Emgesa, companies of Enel Group Colombia, we implement various action plans framed in eight areas: reconciliation between personal and family life, labor and sexual harassment, work and health environment, non-sexist communication, training, promotion and professional development, recruitment and remuneration.
ELIMINATING GENDER GAPS
Gender diversity allows companies to improve their results, creating stronger economies that facilitate the achievement of development and sustainability objectives. The private sector is a fundamental piece in the promotion of gender equity and in improving the quality of life of women, empowering them to participate actively in all areas of the company.
In our companies, through the Compensation Policy we provide equitable salaries based on the performance of workers, as well as encourage women to occupy high positions within the organization, currently having 13% of women in the steering committee.
Furthermore, we seek to carry out activities and give benefits to both men and women, such as workshops to the wives of employees, post-natal return to mothers and extended maternity leave, among others. Additionally, we have set ourselves the goal of completely eliminating all forms of workplace and sexual harassment, through the design and dissemination of the protocol for the prevention and treatment of complaints and allegations related to this issue.
To achieve this goal, it is not enough to focus on the role of women in the workplace, but also their role and that of the man in the family, which is why our companies have been certified as Family Responsible Companies since 2013, with benefits such as flexible hours, remote work, balance days and Halloween days, among others.
20 YEARS IMPLEMENTING INITIATIVES FOR EQUITY
In 2011, Enel - Codensa and Enel - Emgesa subscribed to the principles of Women Empowerment, an initiative of the United Nations Global Compact, which seeks to promote equality for women in business and society. Years later, in 2015, we received the Labor Equality seal, a recognition for cultural and organizational transformation, led by the Ministry of Labor, the High Presidential Council for Equality of Women and the United Nations Development Program ( UNDP), which seeks to eliminate inequalities, barriers and gender gaps that exist in labor matters.
This year we were recognized again for our commitment by the corporate gender equity ranking of Colombia developed by AEQUALES and the College of Advanced Management Studies (CESA), being ranked among the top ten companies with the best labor equity practices in the country, among 110 private and 54 public companies.
The challenge for the future is to continue working to close the gender gaps and promote equal workspaces in order to achieve an equitable organizational culture, in which men and women have the same job opportunities.
