Contributing to the development of the people who are part of the organization is one of the most relevant aspects of our organizational philosophy. Our workers are the most valuable resource that the company has, since they are the ones that drive the change process we have undertaken, and that is why providing them with the necessary tools so that they can act and carry out their activities is key to contributing to the transformation of Colombia and the world.
STRENGTHENING OUR MOST IMPORTANT ASSET
Within our development and training process, we have implemented the Individual Development Plan (PDI), which aims to enhance the personal and professional development of each member of the company, by acquiring knowledge, abilities and new skills that allow them to update and improve their performance in the position they currently hold or in future positions within the organization.
Five action axes make up the Individual Development Plan, which each worker can define based on the aspects that they need to improve in order to perform their functions or activities in the position he or she performs:
5 ACTION AXES OF OUR DEVELOPMENT AND TRAINING PLAN
- Temporary rotation in another area of the company (provided the current positions requires it).
- Carrying out internal or external courses to potentiate soft and/or technical competencies.
- Development of activities executed directly by the worker that allow them to strengthen a particular behavior or knowledge.
- Transfer of knowledge in a specific topic by a guide or mentor.
- Conduct project activities as a team member or leader.
DRIVING CONTINUOUS TRAINING TO GROW
In the first half of this year, we gave about 65 thousand hours of training to 1,700 workers who have participated in the 189 courses we have offered, which highlight the following topics: soft skills, languages, safety and technical skills.
Additionally, in the organization we have professionalization and postgraduate programs, which aim to support our workers in the completion of their studies, helping them to cover their university expenses, and facilitating their access to higher education that adds value to the business, allowing them to grow professionally. So far in 2017, we have loans to and sponsored 51 of our workers to carry out their undergraduate studies, and about 28 employees have been able to access postgraduate studies thanks to these initiatives.
THE FACULTY OF LEADERSHIP
We know that in the organization it is also necessary that those who manage work teams have the necessary skills to do so, that are capable of motivating them, that allow them to develop both personally and professionally, and that encourage them to achieve their objectives. That is why we seek to strengthen the skills of our leaders, through programs, methodologies and workshops that are aligned with the latest trends.
“As part of the Enel Group, in our companies we promote and encourage the training and positive development of our employees to strengthen their professional and personal growth”
