“To promote these educational processes for community leaders and local authorities, to contribute to the welfare and social transformation, thus getting closer to the path of peace”

– Luisa Leaño, Sustainability Management Professional at Enel Colombia

As part of these initiatives, we have contributed to the transformation of people from the municipalities of Yacopí, Caparrapí, La Palma, Guadas and Chaguaní, and have strengthened the teamwork skills and social cohesion of community leaders in the municipalities of Ubalá, Gama, Gachalá, San Antonio del Tequendama and El Colegio. Also, this year, through the National Network of Regional Development and Peace Programs (RedprodePaz), we expanded our social transformation efforts, joining the Huipaz organization, to strengthen the capacities of Community Action Boards and other social organizations in the 15 municipalities of the Department of Huila.

“These processes have generated community spaces that lead to the development of the inhabitants socially, as well as business and family-wise, and have fostered new leadership for the promotion of peace and development in our territory”

– Jineth Marroquín, social leader Municipality of Caparrapí

KNOWLEDGE WILL MAKE US STRONGER

Through the implementation of workshops and training days, communities have received advising in different areas of interest, such as: political culture, participation, leadership, economic development, organizational strengthening and productive initiatives.

“We believe that through empowering people, we can give Colombia a different society. We are working to achieve a cultural change, a change that comes from thought, because this is the only way to build peace”

– Carlo Ferrara, Sustainability Manager at Enel Colombia

By supporting communities to recognize their strengths and training them in issues of social and political interest, we have given them the possibility of transforming their vision, thus improving their living conditions. Now, children dream of being community leaders, as well as their parents, with ethical values and willing to work for the benefit of their environment.
