We are aware that today's world does not move without energy, that in our hands rests the responsibility for people to perform any activity they undertake, as electricity is present even in the simplest of daily things. This is why providing a better service every day is one of the premises that motivate us the most to work to ensure that the energy that reaches the homes of our more than 3.2 million customers in the country responds to their needs and even exceed their expectations.
MODERNIZATION THAT ALLOWS US TO BECOME MORE EFFICIENT
Since 2015, we began the most important investment plan our company has undertaken in its history. More than 1.1 trillion Colombian pesos have been invested in order to incorporate the most modern technology into our distribution system to improve the quality of the energy service we offer. This has allowed us to intervene our critical circuits, to further increase the capacity to attend to the growing electricity demand in Bogota and Cundinamarca, and to carry out preventive and corrective maintenance of our physical infrastructure through the use of drones, remote inspections with helicopters, and remotely controlled intelligent equipment.
In addition, we are modernizing our energy substations, intervening our transformation and distribution teams, upgrading the technology, and installing elements that ensure greater efficiency. To date, we have done 63 interventions in 12 power substations, and in 70 kilometers of networks corresponding to 10 power distribution lines.
Also, we are taking our first steps towards the digitalization of our electricity network, firstly with the implementation of the first telecontrol phase, which has allowed us to reduce the number of failures, and considerably reduce duration times by more than 78 minutes; and secondly with the implementation of smart metering in the first 40,000 homes in the capital and municipalities of Cundinamarca, which have empowered our customers in their energy consumption.
Through the investments we have made, with the improvement of our infrastructure, we have the second lowest indicator in the country in terms of number of failures perceived on average by each of our clients, which has positioned us as one of the companies with the best indicators in quality of service in Colombia.
INCORPORATING NEW TECHNOLOGIES TO OUR INFRASTRUCTURE
Continuing to carry out maintenance work, the improvement and renovation of our electricity grids without suspending the power supply is part of the commitment to ensure that our customers are not affected in their daily lives due to the lack of electricity. Therefore once again we have opted for technological innovation, with the acquisition of a modern mobile electrical substation, which will serve as back up in case of failure, or while we carry out major upgrades, so that we can continue to bring energy to certain areas of the city.
This new equipment is transportable, modular, easy and quick to connect, and controlled remotely, so it is a great solution for the company, since it enables us to carry out improvements works to our infrastructure without discontinuing the power supply, and also gives us the possibility of managing its operation remotely.
