Derivex is an organized and structured market in which it is possible to negotiate financial energy derivatives. This market, parallel to the Colombian electricity market, offers coverage and investment products that allow participants to efficiently manage the different market risks.
In 2017, 473 contracts for the purchase and sale of energy were negotiated in Derivex. In these operations, positions were closed for a total of 60 GWh/year (source: Derivex Operations Monthly Bulletin).
Enel Colombia carried out purchase and sale operations in DERIVEX for a total of 22 GWh/year, which represents 36% of the total energy traded in this market, in this way Enel Colombia consolidates a liquidity generating position that contributes to growth of the energy derivatives sector in the country.
