As part of our Corporate Social Responsibility program for a number of years now we have implemented a series of focused benefits to ensure a better quality of life for all those who are part of the organization. Our main objective is that those who work at Enel Group companies in Colombia can rest assured that they are in a place that cares about their well-being.
An essential part of our employees’ happiness is nurtured outside the work environment. While it is important for them to have a source of income, an occupation and to develop professionally, their family is the energy that drives their lives - it is precisely the possibility of better opportunities that motivates them to perform their work better. That is why we decided to implement practices within the Enel Group that allow our employees to work without compromising the quality of their personal life. We began by creating a work environment that balances work and family life with several programs:
- Telework and flexible hours
- Maternity and post-natal leave for mothers and fathers
- Leave for major family days, such as birthdays, the first day at school or graduation day
- Vocational guidance programs for the children of our workers
- Extra-curricular family outings
Certified Family Responsible Company
From the moment we signed a commitment for our pilot program to become a Family Responsible Company, more than 700 employees have taken part in our action plan aimed at achieving a work environment that balances the various aspects of our workers' lives (professional, personal and family), and which also fosters equal opportunity and social inclusion.
To achieve this, we developed 5 Key Principles:
- On-the-job Quality: initiatives that seek to bring value to the employee in terms of on-the-job stability, physical integrity, safety and health.
- Flex-Time and Flex-Place: innovative alternatives that allow employees to manage their time and place of work flexibly under a new culture based on efficiency.
- Development and Professional Competencies: approaches aimed at motivating the integral growth of our employees, with projection both inside and outside the organization.
- Equal Opportunity Employer: measures that ensure the employment of and adaptation to our organization without discrimination of any kind.
- Support for Employee Families: alternatives that facilitate the development of employee activities outside the organization aimed at training, development, counseling, professional support and support for their family.
After working hard for the well-being of our workers, in 2013 the companies of the Enel Group in Colombia were certified as a Family Responsible Company, and the certification was ratified in 2015.
This certification holds us even more accountable to our purpose of ensuring that our workers feel at ease on the job, and that they enjoy the prospect of continuing to bring happiness back home to one of the main sources of energy in their lives: the family.
